As mentioned, I always solder the wires neatly to the sides. Today, I routed them downwards following a few simple steps:  <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Drill a 3-4 mm hole between the sleepers against the rail at the spot where you made the solder joint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then pull the entire wire down through that hole until it has completely disappeared and you only see the bare wire vanishing downwards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Give the wire a quick tug. If it comes loose, you can solder it back on. Better now than when the track is finished \ud83d\ude42  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quite boring, but that&#8217;s all there is to it. I did make another timelapse and took some good close-up photos of the solder joints.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>Now that this is finished, I <em>can<\/em> clean the rails with IPA to remove all residue from the flux. This isn&#8217;t strictly necessary; you can just paint over it. But it&#8217;s better to degrease everything.
