Building the structure (part 3)

This time I’ve been working on installing the tracks, picking up where I left off last time with part of the station. This time we continued with the section on the right side where, next to the railway track, there is also a descending roadway. This had to be finished so that MCC ModelCarParts can measure the road surface. The MCC road surface is laser-cut from 1 mm cardboard.

The parade track has also been further completed, and the first adjustments are already in the works. The right part of the Waldbrunn line is currently placed temporarily. A Noch bridge will go over the roadway, and the drawing isn’t quite right there. Unfortunately, the bridge won’t be available until July, so I’ll have to be patient for a while before I can finalize that part. This also has a major impact on the industrial section against the back wall.

This isn’t a problem, because I can now start laying the rails on the parade track and at Waldbrunn station. And all this under the watchful eye of Pat & Mat. A nice production from Spoorobjecten, which shouldn’t be missing from the model railway.

I used 9 mm plywood for the tracks; I’m not quite satisfied with the span yet—it’s sturdy but could start to sag. This is easy to fix with some crossbeams, but you’ll only see if they’re in the way of a servo motor later on… I’ve therefore decided to only install those once all the turnouts are in place and pre-drilled.
