Noch has produced a whole range of fun and beautiful bridges made from lasercut cardboard. I think this truss bridge looks great as an entrance on the right side of the station. That’s why I chose the NOCH 67029. As mentioned, it’s a lasercut cardboard kit.
I was actually quite hesitant about using cardboard, but in practice, assembling the kit isn’t bad at all. It went quite smoothly. Most of the work is in cutting the parts out of the mold; the assembly itself is easy to do thanks to the very clear manual.
I didn’t use the included wood glue, though; I find it too thick and a film formed quickly, making it difficult to apply with a toothpick. For the assembly, I used DELUXE AD57 paper glue. This stays flexible and doesn’t form a film. It’s also much thinner, which makes it easier to dose the glue.
The parts are easy to place, even the small ones. I did find that the cardboard would sometimes start to delaminate a bit, but that should disappear during the weathering phase. I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to do that yet. I’ve already tried a bit with drybrushes, but I didn’t think that effect looked very nice. Oh well, that’s a worry for later 🙂
After assembly, the strength of the bridge turned out to be a great surprise. You can easily place a one-liter bottle of water on it without the bridge sagging. In my opinion, Noch has brought an excellent product to the market with this.
