Laying tracks (part 2)

The tracks are down at Waldbrunn station. After laying the main turnout area last weekend and letting the glue cure, I was able to install the remaining tracks. It’s a job where staying calm is key. We often tend to work quickly for fear of the glue drying too fast. With MifoTack, you don’t have that problem; you have a good fifteen minutes to align the track.

And that came in handy, because on the two left-hand freight tracks, I shifted the rails slightly to get a smoother transition to the turnout at the end. I also notice now (while editing the photos) that there’s a “dip” in the wood at the end of the freight tracks; the rails slope down a bit there.

Next week, I’m going to investigate that dip and fix it if necessary. And then we’re going to do some soldering—the wiring to the rails, that is!
